These may be refurbished but they are as good as new. I just bought one and it arrived in 3 days. Not a mark on it, works perfectly, the only thing slightly marked is the box. Cheaper than eBay and with a full 12 month warranty.

Have to say I'm knocked out by the quality - 8.5" screen, very light, excellent picture, the sound on headphones is fantastic - full bodied, good stereo image. Haven't tested the battery life yet but its quoted as being at 4.5 hours, like the PET720.

I don't know one way or the other, but the page there says 2.5 hour battery life.

It may well do - I was going by a user review on the web somewhere. I'll have a better idea when I use it. Either way, I can't believe I was contemplating buying a portable dvd player a year ago for over 200 quid. Glad I waited.

1 other thing - I think they come in black or white - these ones are white ("ipod" white really - quite glossy).

I think it is 2.5 hours - I'm pretty certain the 4 hour time refers to if you're using it just as a regular dvd player (without the LCD screen)

perhaps Flip martian can confirm when he's tested it?

Happy to! :) Well I charged it up last night - only took about 2.5/3 hours I think and I've since had the player playing a film since 8.15 this morning...its now 12.25 and its still going strong on the one charge - so its over 4 hours right now! :) I'm going out soon - I'll post the final timing later.

Oops - update - its just gone off as I posted! So it lasted on 1 charge about 4 hours and 10 minutes - playing a dvd on the screen the whole time. Hope that helps some people! :)

that's fantastic! many thanks for checking!

One other thing - is the battery internal or is it a clip-on type. If it's the clip-on version, does it stick out and make the overally dimensions significantly bigger?

No problem. Its a clip on type - sits on the back and underneath slightly as its shaped to fit flush. Doesn't add much - its maybe an inch thick. Adds to the weight a bit but then batteries usually do! Still not heavy though - about a kilo combined. Stays pretty light really. :)
