Apologies if there's already a thread but I'm not sure if the name's searchable (I did look for !!! and chk chk chk) - allegedly the hardest band to Google for

http://www.warprecords.com/!!!/

I know they've been around for yonks but saw them at the NME awards thing this week and the live performance was refreshingly  Not sure I'd listen to them IYKWIM but live they were pretty good

Anyone seen them?

I love "Hello! Is This Thing On?" from a couple of years back. Absolutely cracking tune, but have never got round to listening to any of their other stuff properly.

I've got an album (I think it's held to not be their best) but I just couldn't really get into it.

But a lot of people I know claim that they're really a far better live band than ever on record, so I've been meaning to try and catch them for a while.

Amazon have them as 'chk-chk-chk' I think. Probably a search 'Louden Up Now' would raise some threads.

They're in the UK next month, shame it's at SBE or I'd have gone

Hardest band name to google must have been 'A'.

Quite liked !!!'s first album. Even if it did sound a bit like a collection of Happy Monday B-Sides.

Can't comment on them live, but "Hello..." is an extremely exciting track as recorded IMO, and puts most other indie rock acts to shame. (Though !!! are more punk funk or something.)

Actually it's Louden Up Now, the album that track's on, and listening to it now it's much more enjoyable than I remember. Maybe I was at work and couldn't concentrate. :D

In a typically 'indie-kid' way I am going to employ the oft-used phrase "I enjoyed their earlier stuff".

Thought their self-titled album and the split with Out Hud was quite a breath of fresh air, but since then it just seems like they're playing the same song over and over. Now that's okay for The Ramones to do, but it seems like !!!'s innovation ran dry a bit quick.

Saw them in Chicago last year and wasn't overly impressed either, although plenty of girls were hip-grinding so it wasn't all bad. :D

I read they got their name when watching a film called 'the gods must be crazy' and it showed up in the subtitles at some point to describe a sound.

I have seen it and its not the best of films, sounded really good but most of it is very stupid slap stick :)

I saw them when they were supporting RHCP over here and thought they were terrible, I think the rest of the crowd agreed!

Louden Up Now is a great album. Their cover of Take Ecstacy With Me (Magnetic Fields song) is also fantastic.

Saw them a few years ago when they played I think Academy 3 - must have been as they had trouble fitting them all on stage  Superb gig and they had the whole crowd going for it, front to back, which rarely happens these days.
