I have my tickets for Sonic Youth: Daydream Nation. GET IN! 'Cross the Breeze is probably my favourite track by the Youth.

Slint will probably be as dull as the last time they performed at the Forum, unless they've really got it together as a live band now, however.

I presume there'll be a bunch more coming soon.

Went for Sonic Youth - got tickets from Wegottickets since Seetickets are already sold out. Saw them on the Daydream Nation tour at a disused train station in Seattle. They came on, said "this is a new song" and played the first track off the album. Then "this is a new song" and played the second. Played the whole album that way... At one point I remember Thurston playing using a screwdriver - wonder if he'll do that this time...

I remember them saying after they had all their equipment ripped off that time that some songs were effectively 'lost' forever thanks to them losing the things that made them work. I'll be interested to see how they approach this.

Hah! Guess I'll be seeing you in London, then. :D

When I was buying they hadn't put them up anywhere but SeeTickets so I was forced to use those bunch of thieves: £4.50 fees on each of four tickets.

Do you suppose it's worth contacting the Office of Fair Trading about these sorts of charges? Recently TicketWeb introduced a frankly ridiculous extra charge just to collect on the door!

I think they got some if not all of the gear back. It's all about the tunings, innit? ;)

Got two tix for both SY and Slint - hooray! :D

Really? The stuff I read on their site didn't seem to suggest any of it was ever returned.

And I think the point there was about the electronics and design not the tunings, surely. ;)

I did once find a site with something like 25 different SY tunings. Madness! :D

Sonic Youth have added a second London date as part of 2007's Don't Look Back season as the first date, 31 August has now sold out.

In addition to the 31 August date, they will now also play Daydream Nation at The Roundhouse on 1 September as well.

ATP Vs The Fans is taking shape now, and that line up looks pretty corking too:

Modest Mouse
Yo La Tengo
Wilco
Mogwai
Explosions in the Sky
Band of Horses

Getting there now - well.....better than it was anyway :D

The problem is that the list of bands who definitely can't do it looks like the best festival ever, as someone on DiS pointed out:

(Anyone can view this page - you just need to have a ticket to be able to add your own vote.)
