Since most of the HKL titles have been reduced I have treated myself to all the available Bruce Lee titles and am slowly ( and in no order ) working my way through them.

Have just finished watching Fist of Fury and found the ending to seem very familar to me, is it featured in another film ? I seem to recall it may be shown half way through Game of Death

Fist of Legend starring Jet Li is a remake of Fist of Fury, so if you saw that film first, it would explain why its familiar to you.

No, not seen that, seem to recall another film ( think it was Game of Death ) where a character plays an actor making a film and part of that film was recording a scene just like the end of fist of fury, except in that scene the "actor" got killed

Aha, I see what your saying now.
I think your talking about Game of Death which was made using a mismatch of other Bruce Lee titles.
The scene where Lee runs at the police officers whilst being shot at in Fist of Fury was used again in Game of Death as a terrible plotline to put Lees (stand in) charactor in hospital so that he could have bandages on his face.

It also kind of a pastiche of the <i>Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid</i>'s ending.

Thats definatly it, I remember now.

When you say it was made using a mismatch of other Bruce Lee titles what other films are in it ? and also is it just inserted footage or re filmed ?

Oh and I suppose a rather silly Bruce Lee question but ..... how did he die ? and do the HKL titles represent his best films ?

Yes it is very very good - maybe Jet Li's best. It is out on DVD, Region 1 which has scenes cut and is dubbed, and a Region Free Ritek disc which is uncut but is quite expensive (I think the last one went on eBay for £23  )

You can always get it really cheap on VCD - which is what I went with until a viable DVD comes along :)

I personally think FOL is a better film than FOF, but you'll probably find that opinion is split down the middle as to which is best.
The R3 DVD is actually R0 I think. It's a Taiwanese release by Ritek, so it's dubbed from Canto/Japanese into Mandarin. It's still the much preferred version on DVD though.

You can pick up FOL on VHS in this country. It's a great VHS release, presented in it;s otiginal audio & in it's OAR. It's also getting quite hard to find these days though.

Fist of Fury, Way of the Dragon, & The Big Boss all have scenes reused in Game of Death. Scenes from Enter the Dragon could not be used as its owned by Warner.
There were no scenes refilmed for Game of Death from other titles. The only real footage starring Bruce Lee in Game of Death are the scenes at the end where he goes to the resturant and makes his way upstairs fighting one bad guy on each level.

Thats open to all kinds of speculation.
But the official opinion is that he died from a reaction to headache tablets which he was taking.

HKL have already released all his films which their legally able to do so (Warner own Enter the Dragon so HKL cant touch it).
Bruce only made 4 films in his short martial arts film career, 5 if you include Game of Death.

Well I never new that about Game of Death, guess I should watch the extras, seeing as it was the 1st of the HKL titles I watched then I guess all those scenes were lost on me.

I own Enter the Dragon, Way of the Dragon, Fist of Fury, Big Boss and Game of Death

so am I missing any ?
