Sold something and received payment via paypal straight away. Got an email lasking if I could post before Friday, which I responded to saying no problem. Then got an email saying
'i need to pull out as it was my son who was bidding with out letting me no(sp) i
am sorry please do not except payment.'
I've no probs with this but don't want to be out of pocket - Any ideas what I should do?
Who's paypal account did the money come from?
If it was his own then he's talking *****!

Then how did his "son" get his "dad's" Paypal account details? He's bid on it, realised he doesn't want it and now is backing out, leaving you with relisting fees and such.
I'd at least demand that he cover your losses.

He could have left a cookie for his username and password I guess.

He's paid for it and unless you listed a return option you have no obligation to refund him, however he can then claim via paypal that the item is faulty/not as described and return it for a refund. See if you can come to an agreement over costs to cover the transaction as you should be in no way liable for these.

You used to be able to claim the fee back from ebay by stating that there was a non-paying bidder.

you can claim the final value fee but not the listing fee

Won't you get the listing fee refunded if it sells after re-listing?
