Had a quick look through the posts, can't find any real recommendations - no search option does'nt help!

The story of my life, goto Comet, look at 32" Widescreen sets - Write down the model numbers - come home and go online searching for reviews/comments on those model numbers.......NOTHING!!!! Bought What TVVideo/Other Mags to look for the reviews...cant find the reviews/small comments for the sets! So can anyone shed light on a recommended widescreen set?

A couple that I noted down where :

Thomson 32" Pureflat 100hz 32WF45 @ £799
Hitachi 32" Virtual Dolby C32W433N @ £719
Sharp 32" Nicam Stereo 32HW53H @729.95
Panasonic 32" Pureflat Nicam TX32PK3C @£899
Panasonic 32" Flat Dolby Pro Logic TX32PK2 @899

I did find a post warning of the picture quality and color of the Hitachi 411/511 model so I won't go near that.

Any comments / help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

well the television forums at www.avforums.com has a running 'which 32" WS set' thread running

otherwise try www.homecinemachoice.com

if you're not already using it try the product codes and manufacturers name as search terms in google and google groups (deja as was)

If you can afford it go for the Loewe Aconda 9381. It is by far the best 32" WS TV out there.

Cheers for the forum link !

Loads of questions answered on there...just what I was looking for!!

Thanks again for your time in replying to the post.

PhilC...Cheers as well for the recommendation!

The reason I was looking in comet was the fact that the tv has to be purchased from them as its going to be a replacement for a faulty tosh 29" which failed under extended warranty and vouchers have been given to spend in-store.

This roughly narrows down the brand and the amount to spend!

(plus my old dear get 10% off with a Kingfisher discount card!)

and if you wife object's to the way it looks and the cost :(, then the Xelos can be had for a touch under a grand (same Chassis but not a flat tube)
