whilst visiting Fopp this weekend to pick up a copy of The Mighty Boosh: Live (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=462352), I noticed that the Region 2 re-release of The City of Lost Children (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0112682/) was available for only 3 pounds, not bad given that it turns out to be a better version (http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=1661) than the Region 1 edition that I spent far too much money on back when it was out of print a few years ago... now I have both :dork: (which might not be too bad given that it's possible that each version features a different audio commentary; the R1 has Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Ron Perlman listed, whilst the R2 only mentions Jean-Pierre Jeunet)

Ooh, I didn't realise that this had been re-released - I'd always known to stay clear from the dodgy EiV copy, and had never seen it cheap enough to pick up on R1. Now I'm heading into Fopp for two things, thanks to two different threads on here tonight! Thanks :)

Excellent spot! I've always put off buying the R2 in the past because it was 4:3 and didn't realise it had been rereleased either. This is deffo widescreen?

great film ...
dvdcompare.net says:
OVERALL: R2
The French release has some great extras but no English subtitles, while the UK re-release has similar extras but is fully subtitled in a variety of languages.
DO NOT under ANY circumstance go for the R0 Hong Kong release, unless you wish to be disappointed. A VHS copy is better.
CUTS:
* R0 Australia - (Siren Entertainment) - No Cuts.
* R0 Hong Kong - (Ocean Shores) - No Cuts.
* R0 Korea - (Academy ENT) - No Cuts.
* R1 SE America - (Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment) - No Cuts.
* R2 LE France - (Universal Pictures) - : No cuts
* R2 Germany - (Concorde Home Entertainment) - No cuts (107:53 min - PAL).
* R2 Holland - (Universal Pictures) - : No cuts
* R2 United Kingdom - (Entertainment In Video) - No cuts
