Simple Question: IS RGBScart Better Than SVideo

Simple as that, am interested cause svideo doesnt carry sound so should that not improve the picture quality.

Is there a site with some scentific research done o it or something?

Jez, there is no real answer to this. In theory, RGB *should* be slightly better than S-Video, but it's all down to the equipment you have and your own personal preference. IE, I prefer RGB but wouldn't say S-Video is actually worse, just different.

My own experience leads me to believe that RGB is better than S-Video but everybody looks for different things in their picture - RGB provides what I want in a pic but S Video looks a bit flat to me IMO!

Its a bit like buying a really high end stereo amp only to find it has no tone controls. Personally I like the clarity from RGB. Some people like the colouration from s-video. RGB will give the purest signal but it may not be what you are looking for. Why not compare the two with your equipment?

I, and at least one other member have started threads in the past asking everybody which they used.

The polling results on both occasions showed that most people go with the RGB option. It's about 80 per cent if I remember correctly.
