I currently have a Multi-Region (Firmware Hacked) Phillips DVD710, which will not read Certain Disks, due to (I believe) Problems with the Laser Mechanism.
The New Player will be expected to produce the Sound Track through a Sony STR-DB1070 Receiver connected via a Coaxial Connector, and the Video Signal through a Scart Connector!
It is important that the New Player be Multi-Region as most of my DVD Titles are either Region 1 or Region 4!
I am in doubt over the following Options:
Buy a PS2 accompanied by a DivX Disc, which will convert it to a Multi-Region Player (Or am I confused), and at the same Time be able to take advantage of having a Games Console (I don’t own a Games Console). To be had at a cost of just short of £200.00 excluding the Extras.
Buy a Sony DVP-NS700, which if I recall correctly, Justin considers to be the only Sony Player (Below the £SAY WHAT Figure) worth considering over a Pioneer Alternative, but do I really need an Entry Level Top of the Range Player to accompany my Top of the Range Budget Receiver. To be had for about £300.00, which doesn’t allow for a Games Console.
Buy a DVD Player in the same Price Range as the Sony DVP-NS700, but by another Manufacturer.
Buy an Entry Level DVD Player, or a Bottom of the Range Budget Player for that matter, and have enough left over to buy a Dreamcast Console and Extras (Either New or 2nd Hand).
Please HELP !!
