Went to see New Wave favourites The Members playing their first gig in 25 years in a small pub in London last night.
They were playing tracks from their debut album "At the Chelsea nightclub" and it was brilliant!
The band were introduced by Phil Jupitas who was seeing his 20th Members show...

I'll be reviewing the show for CD Times in the next couple of days so there's more pictures to come...

Excellent!

Brings back a lasting memory of mine from way back when...

I was slumped on the sofa watching tele one late night circa 1980 when the BBC announcer came on to announce that BBC was now closing down (yes, children, at one time TV used to STOP for the night! )

Incredible as it might seem now, the BBC always used to play the national anthem last thing, but that night the Home-Counties accented voice of the announcer said: "Tonight, something a little different for the closedown..." and on came the title track from 'At The Chelsea Nightclub' ! Fantastic!
I have never forgotten how I laughed at this subtle piece of subversive broadcasting...

Great band. Nice to know they are still out there.
