ARGH!

Spotted this in the US, it was a bargain, and I love all things Wing Commander, so picked it up.


Oh dear.

a) its a conversation from a console (SNES maybe?)
b) it is completely unplayable!!


Avoid at all cost.

On the other hand, the collection also features Ultima VII and Syndicate, as well as a load of stuff like Road Rash I - III, so might not be a complete write off. I just haven't been able to bring myself to look at the rest!


Anyone know if this is heading to the UK?

As far as i know there all the Megadrive versions.

....and I doubt he's telling. Quite excited by the Ultima possibilities as I did like that series.

Pretty sure Wing Commander is the SNES one - the only Mega Drive/Genesis WC game was on Sega CD.

I think you're right. Wing Commander: The Secret Missions is also part of this set. I used to have it on the SNES back in the day and I don't think it ever came out on the Megadrive.

As for EA Replay I picked it up a few months ago and it's great for a few brief moments of nostalgia. However after these, "Wow! I used to love this" moments, I found I dropped it pretty quickly.

wait...hold the phone! "Syndicate"???? Awesome...I loved that game, played it to death on my amiga....or PC, I can't remember which...anyhoo, that game rocked...

my PSP may not be totally worthless after all...

Mm, well, I tried Ultima and Syndicate the other day.

They are console versions too, and Syndicate in particular looked very very bad compared to my memory of the PC version.


I noticed in the new Retro Gamer mag that this compiliation is due on the PS2 too. They didn't say much other than to point out the £34.99 RRP and suggest its a little high!

Argh, I was having some hopes for this. Wing Commander, Ultima VII and Syndicate are 3 games I played a lot (on the PC) and I was looking forward to playing them on the move. :(
