i bought this in the Virgin sales for £11.99 (well chuffed - ok its not £8.99 or £9.99 but it's still good price  )

Anyway, when i got home i found that the disk with the original cinema cut wouldn't work at all either on my PS2 or my standalone dvd player. The disk was a bit scratched so i took it back. However, the replacement i got does near enough the exact thing (it loads up but the menu crashes and it keeps breaking up amongst other things) and there's not a scratch on it!

Also, the dvds for the tv version work perfectly from both sets!

Anyone else had this problem with their sets or am i just unlucky ?

I got this when it first came out (£17.99:( ) and, although I've only seen the 1st disc so far, I've had no problems with it.
I remember that there was a thread a while ago that had a similar title to this one, so there does seem to have been a dodgy batch, or the disc doesn't work well on certain models?

No problems here either - and I paid £17.99 when it came out as well. :( Oh well at least it actually works.... :D

When i first played the first disc on my original wharfedale 750, it played fine. I tried to play it again recently and the picture keeps breaking up. The second disc works fine though.

Both discs play fine on both my PS2 and Pioneer NS-DV55.

Yes, happened to me too. On my Samsung M105 the first disc with the cinema cut wouldn't play. The source of the disc was an HMV shop. After this happened twice I just got a refund. I'll try another batch in another sale at some point.
