Hi guys,

I've acquired the 5 speakers and sub from the Sony DAVS300 setup very cheaply, I have a wharfedale and a grundig player both of which output 5.1/DTS so I guess all I need now is an amp!

Ideally a decent cheap one if one exists, was looking at the sherwood Richer are doing for £99.99, any good? or am I better going for a sony amp to match the speakers, somehow I doubt they'll be cheap.... so any suggestions for a cheapish amp that doesn't sacrifice quality.... :) I'm in your hands once again!

The £99 Sherwood is only Prologic, not DD/DTS.
It has a 6 channel input for DVD players which have onboard DD/DTS decoders, but if your players don't have this, then it's a bit of a waste of money.
They do a Kenwood (5050) at around £160 which would fit the bill for you.
