I had a look in Jessops today they have reduced the D340 to £150 including VAt no delievery, not refurbed and 12 months warranty, and a 32X optical zoon for me that is well worth the extra £30

Does anyone know if the D340 take digital photo's as well? Am looking to buy a camcorder at the moment. Amazon have it for £148.40 with free delivery.
I am actively looking for a camcorder. i was thinking about a Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1a which used SD and SDHC cards. They are twice the price of these JVC's.. is there a reason for that? Resolution maybe? Not sure which to go for

Well... the biggest things that account for the difference in price are, as you suspect, resolution and size. The Sanyo is a high definition camcorder whereas the JVC is standard definition. Also, because it doenn't need to house mini DV tapes and the associated mechanisms, it can be a lot smaller. It only needs to house the SD/SDHC cards which have no movings parts. 'Solid state' recording mediums will become the norm in the not too distant future as storage capacities continue to increase at a rapid rate.

Don't know, but I'm intrigued by these as well and PurelyGadgets (http://www.purelygadgets.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=2570&gclid=COnanK_784kCFQ8RXgodPg46IA) have it for £324. Don't know if PurelyGadgets are any good though...

There has been a slight delay on the stock of these cameras. They should be due with us tommorow.
If anybody has ordered one and this causes a problem, do not hesitate to contact us.

Wrong thread i know but i ended up ordering one from onestop-digital.com. It was a fiver more but has free delivery and i know at least 3 people who have ordered from them and had excellent delivery times and great support. Sorry to go off thread.
As for the Morgan and the JVC, it must be a great deal as i pointed it out to a mate yesterday and he wants to get 3 for all his kids to video his grandchildren.
