View Full Version : ANY decent hardware review sites?

Are there any worthwhile hardware review sites out there? When I bought my Marantz amp I had to rely on just one review and positive word of mouth. Now, I have no regrets about that purchase, but I'm looking for a new TV at the moment and I really want to do some proper research before taking the plunge (I can't afford an £800 mistake!).

I've had a look at the sites of the Home cinema/What Video magazines, but they only cover a handful of products and many of the sets I've seen on the high street are missing from their listings. So where does everyone else go for trustworthy appraisals? (other than these forums of course)....

http://www.audioreview.com is a pretty good consumer review site if what you're looking for is listed

Try www.homecinemachoice.com and www.whatvideotv.com/index.html

There is also Home-Entertainment (http://www.home-entertainment.co.uk) but this is very much a home cinema rather than an audiofile site.

Also can try eopinions (http://www.epinions.com/).

Thanks for those suggestions guys and they're much more relevant than what the search-engines were throwing up.

Google seemed like a wild-goose-chase because I kept ending up at the same 3/4 sites every time. And take it from me, Jeeves doesn't know his arse from his elbow...
