bought an xbox/games/2 controllers/dvdremote from ebay yesterday. collected in person and tested last night.
i found one of the controllers faulty.
Emailed seller to explain and got a "well it was working fine the day before" reply.
Have offered to test it again [not that I see much point] and I did specify exactly exactly what the faults were.

I was/am hoping we could come to a mutually agreeable solution [eg a small refund to bring the total down from the £42ish quid to the prices of the past few consoles I was tracking that sold with only 1 controller.

He hasn't replied to the "could you tell me what you'd do if it remains faulty" so this is a pre-emptive advice session from you guys about what you think i should do.....

I'd let it go mate. Xbox controllers are only about a fiver now, and the amount of hassle you'll have to go through to get a refund from this guy probably isn't worth it. I know it sucks, but thats the fun of ebay!

I agree, barely worth the effort. Leave a neutral/neg and move on.

to be honest I was only going to ask for a small refund to split the cost of a new controller.

To give him the benefit of the doubt maybe he isnt replying until i email back with results of my recheck? I just want to have solutions on hand if it does get fraction from then on in.

i guess hassle vs principle-of-it balance needs to be viewed, as you point out.

Just to follow-up
He emailed me today to apologise saying he has been working out of town all week and not had access to email.
Refunded me £5 as requested at the same time.
