Following on from my original thread on here i thought i'd post the outcome!.
Tried both the D80 and K10d and really got on with the Pentax. After charging the battery i only managed some indoor flash shots so here's what i have so far:

They were shot in RAW but i ran into a problem, CS photoshop doesn't recognise the format and neither does Apple Aperture. I had to convert them using the included software which was terrible then post process in CS.
They were shot in AV mode with the aperture set to 5.6. The max ISO was set at 800 (i think!).
I have the digital photography book by Scott Kelby and i've proof read the manual whilst waiting for the battery to charge.
So any help with regards to the next steps i should be taking?
