Following on from my original thread on here i thought i'd post the outcome!.

Tried both the D80 and K10d and really got on with the Pentax. After charging the battery i only managed some indoor flash shots so here's what i have so far:

They were shot in RAW but i ran into a problem, CS photoshop doesn't recognise the format and neither does Apple Aperture. I had to convert them using the included software which was terrible then post process in CS.

They were shot in AV mode with the aperture set to 5.6. The max ISO was set at 800 (i think!).

I have the digital photography book by Scott Kelby and i've proof read the manual whilst waiting for the battery to charge.

So any help with regards to the next steps i should be taking?

I think you've just started the k10d club right?

(no comments on pics as I cant see flickr in work.)

Hi ;)

Pics could do with being a tad smaller :)

Nice Cam though isn't it. Currently have a "wants" list as long as my arm though :(

a bloke in our photography club brought his in last week and it has a really nice feel to it. the add on grip is great, much better than canons bg-e2 for mine. He's just taken it to hong kong and the handheld night time pictures he took with it were excellent. I think he was getting good results at 1/8th sec with the antishake

Switch to DNG RAW mode mate, it's all nice and standard then (well, for an adobe workflow anyway!)

Is it RAW2 format? If so you'll need to download a patch for CS2 (no idea about Aperture) to support this newer RAW format.

You sure? The cam can output in two seperate RAW formats, PEF and DNG, of which the former is the default...

Its in the primary menu, 2nd page.
