Hope some one can help me.

I have just become the proud owner of a pioneer dv-545 from www.homecinemaheaven.com

although things seems fine, i cannot get it to play multi region disks (well i have only tried region 1 rce)

Does anything have to be done to the player, or should it work straight out of the box.

Cheers

I have only tried with Me, Myself and Irene.

It MAY be that you have to do some setting. My 737 was multiregion, but required me to set it up before it would play RCE
titles. You should have been given instructions how to do this.

I have no idea whether the 545 menu arrangement is the same as the 737, nor whether your mod works in the same way that mine does.

However, just in case they are the same, on my 737 it's something like (from memory):

In the setup menu, go to the last tab (general, I think). Set the menu format to "Basic". Press "display" (displays current region no. and software version). Press "condition" (display doesn't change) then press 1 to set region 1 (display doesn't change) then "setup" to exit menu.

To check that the change has taken, go back into the setup menu, last tab, basic mode and press "display" again. It should show the region = 1.

With the region set to 1 in this way, it should happily play any disc from any region. The only time you may need to do this again is if the distributors ever make RCE discs in other regions. At the moment, they don't exist AFAIK.

You need to set it to region 1, as per the instuctions supplied, OR perform the disc swap trick, whichever is easier for you. Switching regions is the same for any model of pioneer. Once set to R1, the auto mode will play other regions, or you can reset regions or perform disc swap:)
