Couldn't see if this has been mentioned here but thought it worthwhile for the old timers ! Bombergames have released a remake of the Streets Of Rage series, it features new characters, levels, remixed music etc..... They've done a really good job I reckon and it's worth it just to hear the classic Yuzo Koshiro tunes again.

I was playing this last night. Streets Of Rage 2 is one of my all-time favourite games ever (I love the other two as well) and this project is right up my alley.

I loved the speech in the last one they did on the megadrive, I could always swear one of the baddies said "I'm Kris Akabusi!".
Great game will give this a go

I just had a quick listen to the sampled speech in the sound test, and "VOICE 00" sounds like a girl/small child saying "Harry Hill".
cheers d/ling now
needs to be on LiveArcade!

Was that one of the ninjas? Yeah it does sound like that. I like the way the guy that's done this has laid Yello samples into the remixed tunes :)

Now this is a god damn game!
The music in the intro sounds fantastic with the sub.
The fighting seems a lot slicker. Man can't wait to work my way through this.
Its old school all the way, currently playing Castlevania games as well!

Nice one - this'll come in handy when I'm supposed to be working. Cheers!

Well, its harder than the SoR games, partly due to not being able to use the '2-punch ... wait ... 2 punch ... wait' strategy from the original games that enabled you to kill most opponents (excluding bosses) without giving them a chance to hit back.
I am loving this game, the way it combines all 3 SoR games into one with with remixed versions of the excellent music. They even brought back the cop car 'smart bomb' from the first game. Hurrah!

I always thought the guy in the cop car was Robocop :D

Got to stage 8 with my sister before, was ace, she used a pad and I used the laptop keyboard and we had it hooked up to the TV. Had to leave it due to hunger.

It's weird you should say that because the only beat 'em up my sisters (all 3 of them) would play was SoR2. They loved it. Prolly because it was easy unless you shoved the difficulty right up, but hey.

Shame you can't save your state, like an emulator, but it is very slick. Did they include the level from SoR1 with the lift up the side of the building? You could chuck folks off :) Although come to think of it, I couldn't manage a throw on this when I played it yesterday.

I managed to throw, but I can't seem to do when I want to. Anyone remember the controls.
My favourite level was the downward elevator which got faster from SOR2.

To throw (in the MD games at least) you just get close enough to an enemy to prompt a "grab" and then press direction away from enemy and punch.
