Been given a second PSP on a "if you can fix it you can keep it" basis. From what i'm told this person doesn't have access to a computer so they haven't bricked it by trying to downgrade or anything.

The battery works fine as once charged it worked in my own PSP. When on charge the orange light comes on ok but when you try to switch it on the green light flashes on for a split second then goes off again. That's all i know:D. Any siggestions?

Anyone had similar problems or seen this before?

Thanks in advance
Regards
Bryan

does it work powered from the mains ? that would rule out any battery connection problems.

What was the last thing attempted on it before it bricked?

If it has some of the newer custom firmware put on it then it can create a brick, however some come with a recovery solution and this can be used to revert back to a working firmware.Obviously i cant post where to get this from but you should be able to google it and as with flashing all firmwares you do so at your own risk and should always read and re-read the instructions carefully before attempting.

Like i said in my original post, the previous owner had no access to to custom firmware or downgrading. So it's not a flash problem as far as i know.

John316 - I think one of his kids had been playing with it before it bricked.

If you've not tried it already, boot it up without a UMD in and without a memory card inserted.

Mr Coates - Tried booting it with and without mate.

I've spoken to the lad i got it from and he thinks one of the kids dropped it. I'm beginning to think there's no hope:(. If i can't find a fix by midweek i might just stick it on ebay.

Before you do that, get in contact with these (http://www.gtelectronics.co.uk/) guys. I made extensive modifications to my PSP to get a video output from it and essentially ballsed it up. They put it back together again and the price was reasonable too.
