There's also an actual festival type thing in Exeter, with loads of different places showing films. The Picture House is showing subbed Mononoke and dubbed Totoro and Kiki (I think) while the Phoenix is showing Akira (not sure if it is subbed - will ask the guy in charge).

I would love to see all of these on the big (or any other!) screen - I've emailed the Belmont to see if they're going to bring it to Aberdeen. Here's hoping...

Princess Mononoke (subtitled) is on at the Sheffield Showroom from Friday 11th Jan for a week. There are about two showings a day. This is a taster for a wider selection of Studio Ghibli films to be shown here next month.

woot - and in Newcastle too ( in Feb)

Studio Ghibli - The Art of Japanese Animation
A major retrospective of Japan's leading animation house, Studio Ghibli. A selection of its dazzling, smash hit animated fantasies will be shown - for the first time ever in the UK! Screening of Only Yesterday (2 Feb), Princess Mononoke (6 Feb), My Neighbour Totaro (16 Feb) and Defenders of the Forest (23 Feb).

Tyneside Cinema

Go to the what's on section. Totoro is on this Friday.

You may have to call to find out what's on later in the month. I've got the program at home, but haven't got it to hand at the moment.
