Even some experienced ebayers getting caught out by the looks of the bider lists....
Very sneaky and very immorral ....
Would you have fallen for this ?
Discussing here at work says most would not have noticed the scam...

isn;t this for a mem card and game? not sure where it says you'll get a wii.
actually, perhaps you do get a wii. else i'd doubt you'd get feedback like that.
yeah it is for a mem card + game and does state without console - in the middle of the game description.
note this bid is for items i) and ii) only. i am not selling a wii.
We were talking at work and on one hand he does not state it comes with console but he is obviously preying on people who desperately want this and looks like he is catching lots of people.
17 dutch auctions finishing £250 - £350 = ??
why's the mars bar kid so interested in this auction? did you get bummed by him?

i couldn't even spot where it states no console - which paragraph, that text is hard to read.
ah
Early on in the game, you meet up with one of the shadow dwellers, an impish little creature named Midna. Midna rides around on your back while you're in wolf form and serves the same purposes as Navi in Ocarina, providing you with the occasional hint. Link's beast form behaves roughly the same as the human form, as far as combat is concerned, but you can't use items. You can, however, access otherwise unreachable areas by following set jump paths that Midna will lead you through. only items i and ii are included in this auction. If you are looking for a console, look elsewhere. The wolf can also dig and go into a heightened-sense mode that shows off scent trails and other hidden objects. For the first portion of the game, you'll be forced back and forth between forms, but you eventually earn the ability to switch back and forth at will, and some of the game's later puzzles will require you to do just that. You can also ride around on horseback, if you like, but by the time you get to a point when you have large distances to cover, you'll also have the ability to warp around, limiting the horse's usefulness to a couple of combat-oriented sequences.
No I never got scammed but thought people would be interested in this .
Its not so much a scam as he obviously states what you will get but presents it in such a way that people are getting fooled.

If you look at the feedback left by the person who won the auction, you'll see that both parties agreed to mutually cancel the sale.

I agree - very poor!
Its not just one auction - look at the completed items.
And many are dutch auctions with up to 6 items being sold...
it's obviously a scam (and he knows it) if he has to hide the disclaimer in among a bunch of other text.

There are at least two people in his feedback who've been scammed for about £310 each yet have both left good feedback though?!?!?
Scam enough people though and one of them will turn out to have big friends with heavy baseball bats. So he makes a couple of thousand but ends up in a wheelchair for a year, and lots of broken teeth. Is it worth it?
I read it as game + memory card. The fact it says nintedo wii; (the semi colon is the key part).

Yep, the use of a semi-colon makes the title accurate, though I think a colon would have been slightly clearer, the semi-colon could easily just be mistaken for poor punctuation (which is hardly uncommon on ebay).
The inclusion of the description of the Wii, the picture of the Wii and the disclaimer tucked away in an irrelevant location in a huge block of text shows that they're obviously trying to scam people.

But you, like myself and most readers of this thread, are used to spotting this sort of scam on ebay, so you see it straight away. The winning bidder had feedback 1 (you can see it in the feedback list) so new to ebay and probably not as alert as us old hands, and still thinks the world of ebay is rosy and "noone could possibly do that". So, fell for it.
But as someone said, it looks like they mutually cancelled the sale, there's still a £210 Xbox one listed in the feedback as a "good transaction"!

and he's got the nerve to warn off nigerian bidders  . if he's not trying to con anyone, then why not simply say, for sale - red steel & sd card suitable for the nintendo wii? why have all that blurb about the console & why have the disclaimer in the middle of the game's description.
it's sellers like this than make me rarely use ebay.

Pathetic. Even knowing I was looking for text telling me the Wii wasn't included, it took me a while to spot. This auction is meant to scam people, nothing less.

It is listed in the Consoles section, not console games.

That is quite simply fraud and I would imagine that there is a police investigation into his activities.
