Any advice please on the following.

I have had my set-up now for nearly 5 years and over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that when I play a DVD the Centre Channel seems to merge with the Left Front Speaker every few minutes or so. I have checked all my settings on my amp (Its a Kenwood KR-V5570 by the way ) and I can't seem to get rid of the problem. I had tried sound from the video recorder and seem to be getting the same response.

Is my amp on its way out ?? Or do I need to drag all my kit out to see if I have got a loose connection?

If its on its way out any suggestions for an Amp around the £150 mark.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Sounds like two of your speaker leads are shorting round the back of the amp.

Thanks for the reply Neon. I dragged out the kit last night and checked all connections. However this has not sorted the problem :( . So any recommendations for a new amp I have looked at the Richer sounds website and they have got advertised a Yahama RXV396RDS. Anybody got one of these???

Thanks again for your help.

Well, seeing as you're thinking about changing it anyway, you've probably got nothing to lose by opening up the case and having a look inside. If it happens on all inputs, I suspect something's shorting - either on the speaker sockets or on the power amp inputs. So - disconnect everything, case off, turn upside down and thump it to disloge that pesky paper clip!
