I have set up my gamer account tonight after finally getting my 2.5mb internet connection sorted out. I set it up using ICS on my laptop with wireless adapter (which ain’t great anymore) and played a few games of PES 6.

It was okay but a bit jumpy. I was wondering if the performance of Live with ICS is a bit poor – I could see there being a few overheads. I am most likely going to get a wireless adapter for the Xbox as the router is already set up but too far away from the Xbox 360.

However I don’t want to bother if it ain’t going to make any difference.

I could never get Live working properly with ICS. Best I could get was a moderate connection, but with a ethernet cable from xbox to router got a open connection fine and now with the official wireless adaptor works great anywhere in the house.

Cheers, thats what I wanted to hear :)

I got it working ICS working no bother. Just had to mess around with the software firewall on the PC (the one on the router is set to medium - default). However it was jumping and stutering a little bit.

My broadband connection fluxes a little bit but I figured going through a PC and back out through a wireless adapter has to be adding an overhead to the whole thing somewhere.

I've biten the bullett and ordered a wirelss adapter for the xbox. Its expensive but its better than having a long cable to the router downstairs.

I changed from a wireless connection to the long cable method after having too many problems with PES6.

No probs at all now and game plays very nicely.

I got my wireless connection and very few problems. It gets a bit slow round the goal kicks but that is about it.
