If i get a DVD Player with a built in DD5.1 docoder will that be enough power to power my new tanoy speakers???? Or would I still need a amp/reciever?

You still need an amp unfortunately. However, having the decoder on board, means you can by any amp (even a pro-logic) as long as it has 5.1 inputs.
