Trade in prices @ game stores

Hi Everyone,

I'm after some help here.

Is there such a thing as a guide/list that Game stores use to calculate their trade in prices?

Reason I ask is, I have about £90 in store credit for Blockbuster, and I was thinking about buying some games from Blockbuster, and then trading them in at game, so I can use the store credit to part fund my Nintendo Wii on Friday.

So if anyone can advise what titles would be best to buy for trade in, i would be grateful

I don’t think they have a list anywhere, the only place I know you can search for up to date trade in prices is the ‘computer exchange’ website.

GAME make you take your games into the store so they can scan the barcode, then tell you how much each is worth. I tried phoning once, but they were having none of it. I'm taking down a few games on Thursday/Friday to part fund my Wii so I can let you know how much I get for them. When I was in there the other day some guy traded in Pro Evo 4 for 50p & LMA 2004 for £1.25, hardly worth it.

Also I think I remember seeing somewhere that Gamestation will beat any trade-in price you are offered by £1. Doesn’t help if you have pre-ordered at GAME though!

gamestation ought to price match cex according to the poster promise.
cex sometimes wont give you cash and wont stock new wii

blockbuster and gamestation are the same company (viacom?), are you sure they wont accept credit?

Didnt realise blockbuster and gamestation were owned by the same company? Might give my local store a call and see what they say.

BB and GS are the same but ran independently from what I recall

I looked up a load of GBA games on cex and the trade in price was something like £240 and the cash price £160. What did Gamestation offer for trade in? £100. They would not match cex as there wasn't a store local to them and the do not match internet sites.
