Sky HD / HD In general And None HD Panasonic PW6

Is it worth getting Sky HD or HD DVD for my 360 even though my Panasonic PW6 is not a true HD Screen ? Will I see any difference from what it can currently play /output ?

Yes you will see a better picture...

You are still giving your plasma an optimum picture to downscale to its native res.

How much better it is compared to say a dvd only you will notice. Are you in a position to compare a dvd to say a pc outputting HD?

Watch the same scene from the two formats and see how much difference there is.

Yes it makes a big difference, I have a Panny 42 series 6 panel and have seen a fantastic improvement using HD, So much so that i have no intentions of upgrading to a HD panel for a quite a while yet :thumbs:

i am also a very happy hd PW6 owner and while i fully understand i wont be getting the full on experience i can still see enough of a difference to warrant a none purchase of sd dvd from now on.i did a comparison of batman begins on standard and HD and i have to say out of the 3 films i have on hd (serenity,kong and batman begins) batman held up very well on SD compared to HD while the others imho looked a fair bit better and i was very surprised to see the SD transfer hold up so well.

also the new resolution panels for plasma should be out next year hopefully and im more than happy with my pw6 at the minute so i will just build my hd collection and get a newer hd plasma panel next year sometime :) cant speak of HD SKY as i wouldnt pay a premium for one sport channel as that would be all i would use it for.

I also have a Panny PW6. While I don't think its worth getting HD-DVD or SkyHD for it, you'll def see some improvment due to lack of anamorphic stretch needed and a higher quality source signal.

I have a PW6 and Sky HD looks brilliant-much better than I thought so I won't be upgrading as I'm very happy with the pic quality.
