ive ordered this amp i should have it tuesday,id really like a bit of a head start before it comes in knowing whats the best way to connect my dvd/cd/vcr to this,as ill probably have to get new connections/leads.
whats the best connection for my dvd player.?
ditto vcr ?
ditto cd?
as soon as i know i can order some cables and stuff.
thanks alot for taking a look:)
At the risk of upsetting you, why did you buy something without knowing anything about the connections or how to connect it?
You are going to have to give us a little more info if you want anyone to help you I think.
dont tell me youve never bought anything without quite knowing all about it m8:)
what i really want to know is whats the best form of connection between the amp+dvd,is it phono leads,or some sort of coaxial.the same goes for the video..and the cd player.
obviously i will read the manual till my eyes bleed when it comes but i thought id try and get a head start..and these forums are for the likes of peeps like me whos talents have yet to be discoverd and need a nudge in the right direction.
now if you wanted a house built id be your man...youre not a headmaster by any chance?:D

DVD to amp - use an co-axial digital cable. Opical ones are fine, but co-ax is a bit more robust and can be cheaper. Pay about £20-40 for a good one. Normal interconnects won't send the digital signal on DD and DTS soundtracks....
CD to amp - use normal interconnects (pay around £20 upwards for goodish leads) unless it's a poor CD player and the DAC's in the amp might be better, in which case it's as above.
VCR to amp (and most other things) - normal interconnects

i have an idea what to order now..thanks radiohead.;)
You may want to consider using a single RCA connector from your dvd, video, sky box (if fitted) through the amp and use a single RCA to the TV to save on using loads of Scart connectors as well.
pricing them now cheers m8.
