Hi,

Received an sms last night from 02, saying if I reply to the text with my name, house number and postcode, they'll send me £2.50 credit to my PAYG account.

I've tried replying to the sms, but keep saying that it's not been possible to deliver the text. I don't *think* it's a dodgy text pretending to be from o2 (as I hardly know my number, let alone anyone else!)

Just wondering if anyone else has received this, and if they've had any joy in replying to the text? I'm wondering if my inability to reply to the text succsefully is down to so many people replying, and 02 being bombarded with sms messages?

I'm tight, and want my £2.50!!!! ;)

What is the number you are replying to? O2s numbers tend to be something like 60202. I know they do offer £2.50 credit for registering your details.

the number came from 21600, the text reads as follows:

02: Easy money! Get £2.50 free calltime by replying with yr name, house number and postcode E.g John Lee 26 SL14DX. Stop SMS call 2200. Use of data terms @ 02.co.uk

Sounds a bit iffy do you think?

Sounds like a data mining scam... I would avoid!

Isn't that the number you text when registering to get your £2.50? I don't think its a scam. I register the free O2 sim cards get the £2.50 (takes around 24 hours to arrive) and then use it to donate via premium rate text to charity :)

well I did register the phone on the O2 website a few weeks ago, so maybe it IS legit :suspect:
