Have just noticed this disc as being listed over at Michael D's Region 4 website as a "tentative" release for August 2002!
I hadn't heard anything AT ALL about this one.
Have a link: http://www.michaeldvd.com.au/Upcoming/Upcoming.asp?sort=Alpha
Scroll down to W - it's around there somewhere.

oo yay, finally something seems to be emerging :)
I saw this a couple of nites ago on Disney channel, still loved it :)
If anyone watched this did it seem as if it had been cut?
when Christopher Lloyd dips the shoe in goop thing isn't there a a bit missing where you actually see the shoe going into the goopy thing??
There was a special edition video double pack released around 7 years ago now which include the 3 Roger Rabbit shorts which are wonderful and even when the movie was released there were loads of Making of... stuff around. Hopefully the DVD will have these on but let's see. A Richard Williams track would also be great.
This film has got to be one of my most re-watched films as a kid. My old VHS is barely watchable. It'd be great to get the DVD. (Isn't there an pretty naff R1 out?)
SilverLiner If you mean the bit with the little trainer. Then i'm guessing the Disney channel would cut something like that out as it is quite disturbing even for a cartoon. And seeing as the vast maj of their target audience will be little kiddies they won't want a million and one irate parents on the phone.
Shame if they did though as although it's not a nice scene it really shows the ruthlessness ( I've forgotten Christopher Loyds Characters name:eek:) of his character.
I always wanted my very own Bennie car.

Quite a lot is missing apparently. There is a bit of material (mostly one-liners by Baby Herman) that was only shown in the cinema release if I remember rightly. Sorry, I don't have the links to back it up, but a friend of mine (a fellow animation buff) once told me about this.

the disney channel rules (in a bad way) when it comes to cutting stuff out...i remember over christmas they god MiB down to about 80 minutes with a little sporadic scissor action, so i wouldnt be surprised at all if WFRR got similar treatment.....:)

If memory serves me, main cut –or maybe the only one– in ROGER RABBIT DVD was the bit with Baby Hermann peeping under a girl's skirt.
Yeah, definitely racy stuff.

The scene SliverLiner mentioned was definitely cut when ITV showed it a few years back. Incredibly badly too. Although not quite as amusing as Karate Kid which was shown around the same time, and featured the kid being surrounded by a bunch of youths, and then cut rather abrubtly to said kid looking rather battered and the leader of the youths telling them to stop because he'd "had enough".
Do these people give any kind of thought as to whether the film will make any sense after they've had their scissors at it? The Christopher Lloyd scene in WFRR was essential not just because it showed what a b'stard his character was, but also because it explained how 'toons could be killed.
