cheapest handset for PAYG

my mobile phone got stolen yesterday and i am desperately in need of a new one. Im only looking for a basic phone and im not too bothered about camera, games etc.
what do you think is a good one for less than £30.

As your sig says NW England i reccomend getting down to Carphone Warehouse in Cheshire Oaks (off M56/M53 at Ellesmere Port) they normally do everything at least 30% off. I was in same position and got a previously returned Motorola C139 with a virgin PAYG sim (I actually use my own O2 contract one no unlocking was required). The Sim included £5 credit and the whole thing was a tenner. No box but all the manuals, charder etc.

i actually live in manchester so would the carphone warehouse in manchester do the same thing? You said "previously returned Motorola", do you mean it's a refurbished phone?

Funnily enough I just bought a Brand New phone from the Carphone Warehouse on Saturday for £29.95 and that INCLUDED £10 of air time.

There is already £5 on a Virgin PAYG phone (which this was on) so you get £15 of air time in total :)

The phone is a Nokia 1100

If you want something small neat, that lasts for ages on battery and not interested in any gimmics (eg just want a phone) it's lovely.

Also has a white LED flashlight in the end if you drop your car keys, or can't see the lock on your front door when you get home (kinda thing)

Lots of reviews on the net about them, and the only people who don't like them seem to be the ones that want lots of gadgets.... Doh!

By the way, I think the best colour is the Silver and black (which is the one at the carphone warehouse) As I said, this is on Virgin and was the best deal.

i have seen the 1110 in tesco as well, i think it's probably what i will go for.thanks for your help
