Is there actually one in Chelmsford Debenhams any more? I thought that closed, although I could be wrong. Last time I went in a Game shop they hardly had anything and it was all overpriced - mind you, I don't really buy games now.

was there last year ...

haven't been in there recently - I always did wonder how both could be profitable though ?

Does anyone ever use the "in-Debenhams" stores ?

Mark.

Yeh, when Debenhams have the pre Christmas sale each year! Only place to get your ELC presents too.

I might wander up there and have a look to see if it's still there. I always thought it odd to have two stores too! They seem to have removed all the interesting stuff (PC hardware, serious software, DVDs) from their store in High Chelmer and the little they have otherwise is not exactly cheap. Since they got rid of the returns policy for PC stuff I haven't seen any reason to go there - the fact that you could return a game if it was poor was the only reason for me to buy from them.

All seems to be just console stuff now, which is of no interest to me. I've got a PS2 but don't really use it much, other than for a quick bash at GTA or Gran Turismo.

does this include consoles, IE xbox 360 ???

TigaSefi

it's not that great a deal if they stick £50 on 360 games already and 20% off that is nothing anywhere as good as HMV for example!

MR.COATES
12-11-2006, 20:55
You're right, HMV would work out a MASSIVE 1p less.

Bear in mind you will get your reward points too plus trade-ins if you're into that kind of thing.

Taz69

anyone know if its consoles or just games/access ?

Well as today is the 15th thought I'd bump this one up. Anyone planning to visit GAME in Debenhams? Taz, as far as I can tell from the Email the 20% will only be on Chart Titles and accessories. I might try and pop down at lunchtime to confirm this and will let you know if I do. Cheers.

If anyone pops in could they tell me if they are doing any pink DS Lite bundles in store please. Just checked the website but all their bundles are just for the white one (and my daughter wants pink of course).

Thanks

Can you let me know what's in the charts? I am thinking about going tommorow or friday but want to know if it's worthwhile as it's a bit of a treck. Want to pick up company of hereoes for £20 - 20% and maybe gears of war.

Space Duck

URGH!!! They wouldn't do Price Match on 360 Games and then the 20% on top... so I got it for a quid cheaper then the other place anyway :(

Sorry just got back and seen this - I'm pretty sure the PC version of COH was in the charts, but not sure about £20 price...

Everything for the Xbox 360 was around £45 so minor savings on some places, but most cheaper online.

Place was packed too - that'll learn me for going in my lunch hour!

WhiteKnight. I was also after a pink DS Lite with a bundle.
They have an 'exclusive' Debenhams offer for a pink DS Lite with Sims2 for £99.99, so effectively Sims2 free. They also had another pack that seemed to be the standard GAME bundle, pink DS Lite plus a selection of games for £109.99. TBH I didn't make a great note of the games on offer, but think that Madagascar was one. I wasn't impressed enough to buy one, no matter how hard the sales guy tried to push the Sims2 offer. And unfortunately the 20% offer is not for hardware or bundles  I picked up Mario Kart DS as a pressie from parents to my son for £23.99. Probably could have got it elsewhere cheaper but as I was there! Cheers.

WhiteKnight. I was also after a pink DS Lite with a bundle......

Thanks Philly. I didn't realise that this didn't include hardware or bundles. She specifically wants nintendogs (or was it animal crossing), so apparently a seven year old girl really knows her own mind (despite taking 10mins every morning deciding what to have for breakfast). I think Argos have a an offer which is essentially a Pink DS lite, accessory kit (worth £20) and either Animal crossing or Nintendogs for £129. If the game she wants is in the Game offer then that'd probably be better - maybe

Cheers again.

Bought the bundle from Argos with Nintendogs last week when they were doing £10 gift voucher if you spent over £100; good accesories kit with it as well, case is useful as is in car charger and headphones ; Checked in Game today and they did not do the £109 with Nintendogs

I'm wondering (hoping I guess) if more stores will be doing Pink DS Lite bundles closer to Christmas. It seems to be one of the most wanted presents for Girls this year.

I got my daughter a nintendogs original pack last xmas -- be careful I got mine at launch and by the 1st week of December they were like rocking horse poo, so be careful by hanging on.

Well with this in mind I've just checked the local Argos availability for the pink DS lite.

None of the Bristol stores or our nearest Weston one has them in stock. Luckily the central W-S-M store does so I've reserved the pink DS lite, Animal crossing (I checked and this is the game she wanted) and the accessory pack (which as COUGHLAJ mentioned is quite a decent looking one). £129 all in. Luckily I'm off tomorrow so I can go and pick it up. Then that's a happy 7 year old on Sunday.

Incidentally a bloke here at work has also been looking for one for his daughter, and he lives in Gloucester and all the local Argos stores there are out of stock as well.

Also noticed a couple of xbox360 games. They had Madden 07 for £25 and Dead Rising for £30 in Game in Sheffield City Centre Debenhams which with the 20% discount should be £20 and £24 respectively if Games of the Week are included.

Cheers WhiteKnight/fastrunner. Sort of got myself covered in that I managed to get a Nintendogs for £14.99 when GAME did their deal every hour promotion and it's hidden in the house still. So if the worst comes to the worst then all I need is a pink DS Lite from somewhere...of course if they run out of these I could be in trouble  But thanks for the warning.

In my game they said the 20% off doesnt count as GOW is not a chart title - plus they only had the 'I'm a mug and will pay for bonus tat' special edition for £50, *******
