View Full Version : anyone remember this eerie b/w film? update: I FOUND IT!!

i once saw a b/w britsh film which started with a couple going to view a house for sale. the door was answered by a woman who then told them the story of a previous owner who , after finding out that his wife was cheating on him, wired the house to the mains to kill her and her lover(i think they tried to escape by putting a coat over a doorframe) . at the end the woman turns out to be the ghost of the cheating wife. can anyone tell me the title?

sorry jayx but the ending was one of the things that i hoped would jog someones memory (it was pretty obvious anyway) fixed it now
btw - 120 views and no answers, is this a forum record
another btw to sputnik - i put the post in the general forum because this forum is supposed to be for recent films(according to the menu)

it took me a couple of hours but i finally found it -
it was 'house of mystery' from 1961
i can relax now.
