Oi! I laughed a few times during Rat Race, and that was deifnitely last year, not this year. I watched it in the states in August!

Yes, but it’s not out in the UK until the end of Jan. And a couple of good belly laughs spread over 1hr and 50 mins is not nearly enough. Rowan Atkinson’s performance in this movie was appalling - sub Benny Hill crap. If that and Bean is all he has to offer now he should retire.

hmm, but officialy it's 2001, not 2002... even if it isn't out in the UK till end of jan :) He wasn't that abd though, and I thought the plot was quite good :)

 If this were an American forum, then fine but for most people here Rat Race will be a 2002 experience although I somehow doubt that in a year in which Scooby Doo will be released, that it’ll be the worst movie.
I personally think the Ali G movie will be the worst of the year. f those recent MTV awards showed anything its that that the Ali G shtick can't be stretched out over a long period of time. At first he was amusing then just annoying and offensive

Nope, not at all.
Not with STAR WARS EPISODE II being released. All my bets are on it for worst movie EVER, even worse than last instalment!
:p

A film starring Gene Hackman, where a pilot is shot down behind enemy lines. An army after him and only one man can save him.
BAT21.
What goes around comes around.

Oh come on ! I agree it's no masterpiece but if it turns out to be the worst film this year I'll be amazed.

What goes around comes around. i was going to mention this but couldn't remember the films name. My mate saw this the other day and loved it so i may give it a whirl, but I'll probably regret it.
Jesus, Gene Hackman's been in a lot of movies recently

Owen Wilson explained that in an interview, it had written for someone in the Bruce/Arnie vein and had to be rewritten to accomodate a less physical actor.
In my opinion it showed, the film switched to and from gung-ho "Top Gun" actioner to 'taut' chase movie and basically fell between two stools.
As for worst film of 2002? There's 11 1/2 months of dross left to wade through.

Some terrible mis-casting in the form of owen Wilson...he just was not a convincing American Navy Pilot....poor performance from Gene Hackman...
However....
The scene with the F-18 was probably the best fighter-jet sequence i have ever scene... clever photography, brilliant idea, grat graphics...realistic pilot commands....very very very very good... IMO, it was woth it just for that 2 minute clip.... just brillinat plane footage..
Hmm how can it be the worst film of the Year when it's only January - there's the rest of this month and all year yet to wade through the 75% crap released- LOL

I agree. From what I've seen of the trailer it looks awful. Ewan Mcgregor is so wrong for this film. I don't care for any of the characters.
Don't you agree JOHN316? You can not be serious and think that the TPM was great. It was as bad as Star Wars fans say it is. Let's forget about all this CGI crap and get back to how a film should be made, with actors and not these stupid bloody computer generated aliens which **** everyone off and actors which are in the film just because they are popular at this moment in time.
I feel better now. :)

As did the one star effort 51st State last month. Empire are so predictable you can guess how many stars a film will get when it's still in pre-production.
Ep II will get four stars, unless it's (quite possibly) ten times worse than Ep I and the worst film of all time, in which case it will get three.
It'll get five stars for sure if it's a slight improvement on Ep I and almost as good as Battlestar Galactica.
