Still showing as $68.95 for me, although for some reason the forum affiliate link seems to be breaking the entire site for me.

I don't think the fact the site has been broken is anything to do with the affiliate link, the link is actually wrong as that is the US site it should be this link:

CD-Wow.us (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump2.php?url=http://www.cd-wow.net/index.php?affid=5502)

But this set doesn't seem to be on there that I can see.

Possibly a stupid question, but do CD-Wow ship the US region 1 discs or the Canadian ones ?.

I don't really want this boxset ruined by bi-lingual covers.....

You do know this thread is about the R2 release, not R1 dont you?

Also if you are going to get the US release you would be better off getting it form DVDWordUSA as they are doing it for £44.99 delivered.

I have received a payment confirmation email but that is all. This happens occaisionally with CD-WOW. Your order will still go through fine and should show up in your order history within 24 hours.

Sorry, lack of reading of the full thread title on my part.

It just threw me when people started discussing Cd-Wow US for a boxset.

Still seems crazy that CD-Wow.com are selling the boxset for £10 more than CD-Wow.us

Must make sense to someone, I guess.

I'll bow out of this thread now and clean my glasses ;)

Although the 14th disc is a complete waste of time.

Now I have to admit the "14th disc" does not really have me drooling with anticipation, I always find it down right weird that people were pre-pared to pay the same or in most cases more for the Uk Region 2 13 disc set

However now we have....

This is $68.95 on the US site at the moment, which works out around £36.32 with today's exchange rate (you're also given the option of paying in GBP during checkout, although CD-WOW rate makes it £38.15 at the moment).

There is no way I can ever see the 14th disc being worth an extra £7 odd, so I have cancelled the £44.95 Region one set fro DVDWorldUSA & gone for the cheaper region 2 set.
Thanks for the heads up Aretak

I think the header of this thread needs changing to reflect the cheaper price.

Personally I dont like NTSC format discs. I have a multiregion player so have no problem playing them but i find them inferior in picture quality to PAL releases. This is why i stick to R2 where possible. It is entirely a subjective thing perhaps, but this is my opinion.

Also if you do want to sell them on generally R2 releases will have a higher resale value as not everyone can play R1 discs.

What is putting me off the R2 set is the fact that it is PAL, sure the R1 release might not have as many lines as the UK release but I like to hear films as they were originally intended, not 4% faster.

Now if they made an attempt to pitch correct the UK release then I would probaley get it but as it is my order is staying with DVDWorldUSA.

Nope. I emailed CDWOW last night to cancel the 9 disc version and got a refund notice and email this morning at 0915.

No probs at all, refund is as soon as they acknowledge the cancellation (sometimes within minutes of request being sent!)

Actually, can anyone confirm what the exact differences are between the R1/R2 versions? Besides the extra disc, the R1 looks like it has much nicer packaging and also a comic and a few other paper pieces.

Tempted to go for the R1 now as it does look nicer, will customs be a problem with DVDWorldUSA?

Im almost sure they are the same (including the tin packadge) as each other, aside from the extar disc.

What R2 packadge where you looking at?

I dont think so as it is listed as VAT Paid on their site and they also say...

We GUARANTEE to credit any customs charges should they be charged.

so even if you do get charged you will be able to get the money back.

Ok the tins do actually look the same after looking at it (Was looking at pics on DVDTimes), but I see no mention of the comic / booklet on the R2...

I see they have now reduced the Chris Reeves 9-disc set to £29.99 which also makes this a more attractive proposition. Still undecided which to get (though i have pre-ordered the 13-discer while i decide).

I ordered the R2 from the CD Wow US site and yesterday noticed in my order status that the title isn't showing, it's blank where it should be, but the order itself is still there. I also noticed that the price for it has increased on the website and they now have an R3 edition for the cheaper price, so I emailed them to enquire about this and got some totally irrelevant 'the reason why you have yet to receive this title from us is because it is a pre-release item and cannot be dispatched until the day of release which is 04/12/2006' reply.

Can anyone give me any better information? Assuming they still know what it is that I ordered (because they know the release date) will those of us who ordered from them be getting the R2 edition with the same packaging as the UK version as originally specified?

Aretak

Their order history pages have been acting up for several days. I wouldn't worry about it.

I think the "My Orders" system is down, all my recent orders, some recieved, have vanished. This often happen with Wow.

Have you checked yours? There does appear to be a problem (http://www.thedvdforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=381143&page=31&pp=20) with the R1 'Ultimate' sets.
