My first two of 2002 are Moulin Rouge and Rush Hour 2.
Can't wait until i get a decent paycheque and blow a load of it in one go on DVDs.
It's great getting one or two here and there but nothing beats getting a whole bunch in one go.:D

My first purchases of the year have been the R2 Dekalog set and the R4 Angel box(es).
And Val Kilmer is a dipstick. He even looks like a dipstick on the cover of Willow. Am I the only one who can see this? What is he like?

You're not alone, my friend. Tombstone is the only halfway decent film I've seen him in. Are there any Val Kilmer films that are actually good?

Ahh. Okay, I forgot about Heat - but it is sooo overrated. It isn't really much better than Tombstone. Good, but no way superb...
still, that is one good film. ;)

Gave in and ordered "Shiri" from ********* for about £22. My reasoning was that I'd ducked out of a work Xmas meal that would have cost about the same. Korean movie seemed a better deal. I am in control of this hobby.
Glad to hear another positive vibe on "Shaolin Soccer". Looking forward to it big time!

True Romance has gotta be his best role;)
Re: Val Kilmer
"Top Secret", top film.... Saw that in a double-bill with "Savage Islands" (forgotten gem).
Enjoyed "Ghost & the Darkness" too. Also, "Island of Dr Moreau" is a guilty pleasure (got a soft spot for follies & production disasters).

Bog standard version... I like fancy packaging as much as the next guy, but at twice the price... :(
I paid £29.99 for mine thanks to Future Entertainment (http://www.futureent.com) - and all you get extra is larger tin packaging, and a set of lobby cards.
You don't get much extra really - though I do quite like the Italian poster for The Beyond included in that set.
