I tried a trial recently and I thought it was very good but didn't buy it. I have been using Registry Booster. I did a test. Registry Booster found 11 problems and Mechanic found 57!! I corrected the 11 with Booster and re scanned with Mechanic. It still found 49 problems.
Does anyone know if this Mechanic download can be used on multiple computers?

Just downloaded and installed it. The program found 154 problems with my registry!! The bargain forum may not be the place to ask this question, but should I allow the program to delete all these errors?! (It says 'set to delete' but I REALLY do not want to knacker my computer... :?: help!

If you are using Windows XP then I believe it does a system checkpoint before doing the repairs. That means you should be able to roll it back if the worst happens. Seems ok on my machine though.
ran it on my pc... and killed some apps.. and video was freezing/locking the pc.. :(
luckely re-ghosted the machine with a image i made on friday. :)
no more reg mechanic for me
Thanks for this been using an older version for a while, cheers.

Cheers OP. Have gone for this, it looks good.
Registry Mechanic looks nice but it's never impressed me. Worth having a look at the free EasyCleaner (http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ecleane.htm) which does far more.

Thanks OP
I have this also, just beware not to run lots of programs with it at the same time because if your computer crashes whilst it's running then it will blue screen and you need to reinstall windows, happened to me.

Thanks to Op - gone for it - I have picked up 502 errors on a brand new dell pc ?
I have just repaired all my errors 502 - and re-booted my pc with no problems - I did create a system restore point before proceeding with any changes. Once again thanks to OP.

Thanks, almost 600 on my 3 year old Aldi Medion PC.
Just ran it on my older Dell desktop, not too sure about unleashing it on the new laptop.
It found 350 errors, corrected them all and done the optimization thing too. Don't notice any difference so not sure exactly how succesfull it has been.
Have had a problem with the computer for ages, it starts up and everything seems fine but then you click on a program and nothing happens for about 2 or 3 minutes. I was hoping this might cure that problem but it seems there has been no luck.

Sounds like you have a memory hog. Do Start > Run > msconfig > Startup
and deselect all the unnecessary stuff that clogs up the system tray like Quicktime and iTunes. Reboot and see if things speed up.

I'll give it a go too, thanks.
Been using Registry Mechanic for quite a while now, Make sure you set it up to do a restore point before deleting anything as if i remember correctly the restore point isn't switched on when its first installed !!

Thanks, trying it now on the laptop as my desktop died a death earlier today RIP.
Regseeker is another good application.
I've run Reg Mechanic, then CCleaner and RegSeeker one after the other and each app has found dodgy entries that the others missed.

Can't download this - site must be really busy.
I usually use TuneUp Utilities, but always worth checking the alternatives.

Cheers OP 500+ problems fixed here.
Just to save a few of you hassle later, don't get too carried away running these sort of utilities, and stick to say just one (i.e. get experience with it and it's effectiveness). I've found in the past that they can sometimes cause minor problems in addition to fixing them!
The two I personally find good (though commerical) are TuneUp Utilities and JV16 PowerTools.
Excellent thanks to OP - only 1603 problems on my 1st scan!
Cheers, hopefully this will rid me of my McAfee orphaned registry entries which are preventing me from re-installing it!
