In the times last week there was an advert from Pure for the recall of all Oasis DAB radios I phoned them and they said to unplug it from the mains immediately and open the rubber waterproof flaps, it sounds like they have had a problem with the batteries exploding, they will arrange collection repair and return, my concern was that I registered mine online and they didn't email me with the recall. Here is a link to the recall on the pure site.

Thanks Chris. Just called and they said there was one instance of the unit expoding in Europe so they aren't taking any chances. Letter to arrive with return details. I'll miss it but thanfully got another dab. She advised not to use it all if you can help it, main thin was to unplug it.

How did you hear by the way?

I just happened to be looking through the Times newspaper in the canteen at work (it was the only paper left) and saw it there, what annoyed me was the fact that when I bought it I registered it online so they have all my details so why don't they email the owners?

That's a very good question. Give them a ring and give them hell, I would.

Thanks for the info - just phoned and they're arranging collection.
I also registered the radio online but only heard about the fault from your post

Thanks a lot. Mine wasn't registered and we'd only had it since mid-August. Going to have to live without it for a while now. (On the phone they said that I'd get a letter within 10 days telling me about how the recall will work and she didn't know at the moment when it'd be returned)

Don't actually have ours plugged in much. Only for charging and it's probably only used 30-60 mins a day.

Just got a recall notice for this today myself. I was wondering whether it might be an issue a few weeks ago, when Sony started recalling all their laptop batteries.

Guess I was right.

Mines being picked up between now and 5. Want it back asap, I listen to it for hours every day.
