View Full Version : Getting DTS from a Videologic Digitheatre DTS
Hi,
I recently got the Videologic Digitheatre DTS system from Comet at the much reduced price of £125, my question is though, How do you get DTS from it????????
I have the system connected up to an LG3550. I'm using Gladiator as an example disc at the moment. When I select DTS on the menu, it comes up with the DTS symbol on the TV, but theres no sound from the speakers, and try as I might I can't select it on the digitheatre, can anyone help?
Cheers
Baz
You absolutely sure you got the DTS for that price?
If you didn't  then get yer ass over to the bargain forum now ;)
If you have got the DTS then you need it connected either Digital Co ax Or Digital Optical and set to one of them and not analogue
My Mistake, it was £250, damn typo :( (wrists being firmly slapped now)
Anyways, I've got it connected thru an optical lead at the moment, and set to optical, but it still wont let me select DTS from there
I'm not using optical...never have so I can't help you with that one sorry
If you just happen to have a co ax try that
Oh btw what dvd player is it? That has to output DTS I think? Most do?
 JUst clutching at straws for you :D
Got a co-ax in now, just givin me the same as with the optical.
Its an LG3350, which I believe outputs DTS.
I think I'll contact Videologic on this one, cos I'm baffled.
Thanks for tryin though Embee.
One last try matey ;)
Go over to LGDVD (http://www.lgdvd.co.uk/)
Go onto the forum
Then onto the LGDVD-3350 Section
Few posts down there is a DTS Problem post.........Hope that helps
Now you have started something Baz 126.
I have LG 3350 and same Digitheatre and because of you i tried
R1 Gladiator and the DTS Led does not light up.Hmmm
This believe it or not is the first time i have noticed this i have a coax in and the Dolby Digital Led light's up.I honestly thought the DTS logo was just that,a logo.
Let me know how you get on with Jimbo And Ittroll and LGDVD.
I always thought i was missing that something else what everyone was talking about.:(
Cheers Jeddie
Jeddie - you need to go to the soundtracks or audio menu on the dvd and change the the DTS version rather than the dolby digital version to get the DTS output (this is always the case on DTS titles - default to non DTS).
Baz - you're obviously making this selection cos you're getting the DTS logo when the film starts (inside a piano on the R2 version from memory). Check the DVD player setup (ie not the menus of the film, the actual player setup menus) and make sure that the digital output is enabled for DTS, sometimes this is a bit obscure and needs to be set to "bitstream" or some other setting rather than "dolby digital" - I dont have your player so i cant actually give you the setting.
Dunkwho
"Dunkwho,Dunkbloodywho". Thats what the neighbour said when i said it was your fault for telling me how to get DTS out of my little system.
Do you think i should charge them for listening in :D
Cheers for that mate EXCELLENT now.
Trouble is i am going back to work on Monday and will not be able to play it like that after 6pm:mad:
What do you think i should do.Move house :D

bitstream, or PCM is what you need your dvd audio output set to.

Embee: went to the lgdvd webpage (I go there a fair bit, but never noticed the posts b4, prob cos I didnt have a dts system b4), got the same info as Dunkwho posted, so..............
A HUGE THANK YOU TO BOTH OF YOU. I can now enjoy the full potential of my speakers, and annoy the hell out of the neighbours ;)
