I like No. 4 a lot - strong composition and colours.

Number 3 is my favourite.
I'd be tempted to increase the saturation of blue in the sky a bit, but lots of people look down on that kind of manipulation. I sometimes feel like it's cheating as well, not sure where I stand on it!

I like Number 3 a lot too - great subject, and you've shot it very well.

The sky alomost doesn't matter, because the subject is so good, but you could reshoot on a day with a clear blue sky and see what you reckon.

No.1 is a well executed close up, but doesn't really do much for me. I like 2 better, as you've some nice DoF going on there - my preference would be to see that with some other stuff, so the picture tells a bit more of a story than it does now.

No. 4 is well composed, and the colours and subject are nice, but the foreground is too dark (on my monitor at least) to show much detail, and takes up a lot of the image - I'd be tempted to reduce that, or lighten it so that more of it can be seen.

No. 5 - great subjects again (I love them tower cranes) but there's no real focal point for me. I'd try walking around the site a bit and seeing if you can find another angle on them.

All IMO, of course - what really matters with this stuff is do YOU like it? If so, ignore philistines like me, and do your thang, baby.

If you haD posted these in another thread, I wouldn't have thought you were a newbie at all. 3 and 4 are excellent! Well done!

Yep 3&4, very good. Fascinating building, and they've got good lighting. Sky is a little bit boring, so I'd say thats worth a play in Photoshop with to see what you can do. Well done!

No# 3's great.. It looks like an old engine, like the side of the Spitfire for example.

I really like your ones of the Space Centre.

I've been meaning to take photos of that for ages but never get out that way.

They look good to me.
I was going to ask where that building was, but it looks as if it's the Space Centre?
It didn't look like that when we visited a few years ago.

I think it has but he's got a really interesting angle of it.

All you normally see is the front "bubbly" bit at the front.

thanks for the feedback, I have been using RAW Shooter to play with and have just shelled out for the full version. I do post process the colours sometimes to make them look a little more vivid.

When I shot at the NSSC it was very dull and over cast, When photo 3 came out I nearly wet myself - it was really exciting - took me back to being at college and doing photography!

The shot of the fuse and makeup were shot under natural light and the backdrop is just a sheet of A4 paper, I think they turned out well if a little boring!

Ah, right. It from the back. Never seen it from the back. As Ragnarak said, all you usually see is the bubbly bit at the front.
