?
it's excellent up until it stops dead!
someone forgot to print out the last 20 pages of the script...
no, sorry but its crap.
it should have been good just by the actors involved.
norton is ok, but de niro and brando just look like they cant be arsed all the way through, a bit like alec guiness in star wars.
it you are really desoerate to see it then wait and rent it, that would be my advice cos its not worth buying.

heah
i think that grunt somes up the film and should be accompanied by a shrug of the shoulders
it was ok, but not great, just ok
So predictable it hurts, it was a massive dissapointment because it was so by the book and didn't really have anything new. Angela Bassett is wasted and De Niro is on cruise control throughout.
Having said that, I could watch Norton, Brando and De Niro in almost anything and still enjoy it, and enjoy it I did. Just a bit of a wasted opportunity.

www.the900thdimension.com/reviews/films/reviews/score.shtml - my review :) I'll be getting the dvd eventually...
it's nicely shot by fozzie bear, a bit slow at times but has some good verbal play between Norton and De Niro, the last reel has some really good tension. It's a decent film well worth a look

Workmanlike but entertaining. Bassett and DeNiro’s on-screen relationship reminds you how rare it still is to see passionate interracial relationships in movies. Methinks Bob himself had something to do with that decision.
I can't believe all the negative comments. I thought it was utterly brilliant. For me, it was the best movie of 2001.
I aggree with nc
I thought it was one of the better movies i bought last year

It's OK - I did enjoy it. But do agree with De Niro just looking out of place on set. Brando is hardly in it (When he is, its good he still bring something to the screen)
It's nothing knew, and won't be the last heist gone wrong movie.
Worth a look (Maybe wait `til rental?)

I thought this film was tops, in a few years time people will be regarded as a classic, good stuff alround. :)
Good story, well shot, brill actors, will go so far to say that this is a lost gem, which I would tell anyone to watch. So best bet I would say is to rent it, see what you think yourself.

It'll soon join the lexicon of 'Robert de Niro films that should have been good but weren't', along with such failures as <i>Frankenstein, This Boy's Life</i> and <i>Analyze This</i>. Weak direction, an irritatingly unfocused script and a poor performance by Brando more or less scupper it.
As for those who claim it's a classic; have you ever seen <i>Rififi</i> or even something like Mamet's <i>Heist</i>????
Its good - not classic, not crap, just good.
Norton is good but his mimicking of Dustin Hoffman in Rainman it is annoying. De Niro was good as usual. Brando was over-rated and mediocre as usual. Bassett was wasted.
The final third was good but it just kind of ends (after a double twist you can see coming a mile off).
I saw it with about 5 friends because we were too late to watch Moulin Rouge a second (or third) time. I didn't mind - everyone else wished we had arrived 20 minutes earlier.

Give it some credit!
It's TV movie fare, make no mistake, but compare it to Mamet's Heist and it's a modern classic!
Sorry, I seem to be in the minority here, but Heist was utter crap. More formulaic than The Score, ripped loads off Charlie's Angels (yes it did!), twisted and turned at all the points you expected it to. Heist thought it was smart, unlike The Score!
Oh dear, oh dear! Actually, other than the fact that Heist is a poor man's The Score (!) I'd also say that it's the worst project Danny Devito has been involved in for years. His acting projects (normally offshoots from his producing projects) are normally dependable but Heist is also the worst film Mamet has added his name to!
One more job, oh is that the gold on the boat, is Sam Rockwell a double agent or a triple agent. Or a quadruple agent or....
Pap!
Stick with The Score, a phenomenally average film, which, at least, knows its place in the world!
