I downloaded the first 10 episodes, but the series is on a break now in the US until 2nd March. But it looks like episode 11 will air on Sky around christmas anyway (unless it has a break here too).

There'll be a 2-3 week break around christmas, but Sky have aired the second half of a season before the US on occasions, so might well happen this time too.

Have Sky advertised these new series at all? The only way I knew they were starting tonight was because I got a reminder email from an online TV guide I subscribe to.

I can't say I have seen any trailers for them which is unusual as Sky usually plug shows to death.

Well Sci-Fi are not starting up again until March so I am sure the UK will be weeks ahead of them this time.

Usually restarts in Canada around December

Canada usually starts airing new episodes of Atlantis in late October/early November but due to the Sci-Fi delay they may also be holding it back until next year because they aired episode 10 last night but whether they are going to air episode 11 next week is not known.

Sky One will definitely be the first with new SG-1 episodes though.

Just seen the SG-1 opener and have to say I'm glad its back  I've missed it a lot and it didn't disappoint. Hope the rest of the series is as good as this

I like the subtle (or not) hints to other sci fi . LAst season, Teal'cs comment about immaculate conception - Darth Vader and last nights Altantis re attaching to the ship, "saw it in a film once"

Hmm yes. A New Nasty Big Enemy with Big Weapons...maybe they'll shock us and finish everything off with a Deus Ex Machina using one of those Handy Super Weapons...

Surely they wouldn't do that...hang on though, it's a formula that's worked for most of the rest of the series.

have to say, the way they ensured that everyone survived last season's ending was painfuly contrived.

It's fine, so long as you don't engage your brain too much, because then you realise that this season is just gonna rerun the same old formulaic arc. Just sit back and watch the eye candy.

Sadly, Atlantis seems to have caught the same thing.

The Wraith, the Ori, Anubis, the Replicators, it's all got a bit...samey, really.

I'd be disappointed if it wasn't like that! I just want to sit down in front of my tellybox and switch off my brain and enjoy. Its worked for 9 series and definitely will for this series as well!

Agree with the point about how they made everyone survive. Maybe a heroic death would have made it better. Otherwise any other big battle won't have no suspense because we'll just think they'll survive. It should be more like the end of Serenity, where after the death of a main character, it really feels as though no one is safe.

Damn it! I managed to miss the first couple of episodes of each series. Just happened to catch a new Atlantis episode on skytwo to find out.

So what days are these shows on, and is there any chance of catching repeats of the first few?

Just watched the 200th episode and absolutely LOVED it :notworthy

So many little nods to fan comments, especially loved the one about how convenient it would be to be transported off just before the explosion

And of course Team SG-1 America  The ending of that sequence was just brilliant as well!!!

Such a shame this will be the last series

The 200th episode was really funny. There were so many in-jokes like the Furlings. I'm going to miss SG1 after this season. At least there are 10 seasons of quality sci-fi that doesn't take itself too seriously, to look back on.

The 200th episode was great, so many great in jokes like Sams "Who makes a TV series from a film" and T'ealc's "the series is down well on DVD" and also the dig at Michael Shanks taking a season off

Team SG-1 was superb as the puppets were so life like

This is turning into a really great final series.

We all knew it from the Stargate fan boards, but Amanda confirmed the SG-1 movies this weekend at Avalon. Which was nice.
