Hi all,
I am currently experienceing some major problems trying to hook my newly acquired xbox to my existing wireless network.
Heres my setup:
Voyager Broadband Modem connected to ethernet port of D-Link AirPlus G+ Wireless Access Point.
Xbox has a Belkin wireless adapter which appears to be designed to be easily connected for the Xbox (lots of images of the console on the box/instructions).
I basically want to be able to switch the xbox on and have it automatically connect to my wireless network. I have played around with the settings and setup programs for the belkin adapter but cant quite get it right.
The closest I have come is when I have connected the belkin adapter to my laptop (switching off the laptops built in wireless), restarted the laptop (which seemed to set the correct settings for the belkin adapter and allowed me to browse the net) then without turning anything off, take the ethernet cable out of the laptop and plugging it directly into the xbox. This allowed me to connect to xbox live, but as soon as I restarted the console the xbox the adapter seemed to forget its settings and I could no longer connect.
I cant seem to even get it to do this now anyway. Has anyone got any pointers or experience of setting up one of these belkin adapters? Does my problem come from the fact that I do not have a dedicated wireless router in the setup and only an access point?
I think this is also causing problems when I am trying to use the belkin adapter configuration program which I downloaded from their website. When plugged directly into the ethernet port of my laptop, it detects the adapter but whenever I try to edit any of the settings it says there was an 'error' and 'the settings could not be changed please try again'.
Help! :brickwall   :(
