View Full Version : [heads up] Galapagos BBC HD friday
Been looking forward to this for months since they showed clips on the BBC HD preview. It was stunning! Some of the best HD I've ever seen
Only a few minutes in and the PQ is stunning

Fascinating, never knew they moved 100 miles in their lifetime (the islands).
Picture quality was top notch, pity the sound wasn't DD5.1
Funny thing is I'm usually so distracted (in a GOOD way) by the PQ I do not even think to check the soundtrack ...

I just look at my AV-AMP and see right away that its DPL, shame as the trailers are 5.1.
Anyway, should you not be moderating over at the avforums ;)
Multitasking mate, multitasking ;)
For me though, the audio rack is 'sideways' in a chimney stack I ripped open/upwards to fit it all in so I can't see the face of the 1068 if I'm sitting in the back of the lounge, so I'm 'blind' to that unless I drag my lazy carcass off the sofa to check

Thought it was a fairly interesting program, although some of the narration sounded like Tilda Swindon was impersonating Cate Blanchett at the opening of Fellowship of the ring :)
Always find it strange that these animals develop these symbiotic relationships to survive as well. Crabs cleaning lizards, lizards keeping the flies off the sealions and birds eating tortoise skin parasites.
Can someone tell me how those lizards actually survive if "Only the biggest dare brave diving under the sea to get food"
Sealions were cool aswell, do they not have any predators there? Was funny when they showed that one floating on it's back with it's fins all folded in. Easy Life

Maybe only the biggest survive and/or they bring food for the little 'uns
