After the horrors of Lego Star Wars, I am looking to swap this for another title...but which one?

I am currently torn between Resident Evil and the New Super Mario Brothers game!

Anyone recommend a decent title, that can be picked up tomorrow in town?

Cheers

If i had to pick any DS title I'd pick Castlevania. Its fantastic. You can't go wrong with Super Mario though.

That rules out OTO then. What kind of games do you like? Pheonix Wright is pretty good.

Between RE:DS and NSMB?

That easy. Mario all the way.

Mario, Castlevania (really good) or if you like RPG's then Mario and Luigi - Partners in Time...

Hmmm, so it's between these two then...

New Super Mario Bros
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

Really am not sure...both have had very good reviews...although I'm sure the mario one is purely because its a new Mario game!

I am leaning towards the Castlevania title...does this have a decent learning curve and does not leave you wanting to lob the unit out of the window does it?

Is Castlevania the best gaming experience that can be had on the ds, that can be bought in town tomorrow?

I do like those shooters (like r-type) where you gain an obscene amount of powerups (any good ones on the DS?)

I'll review this thread tomorrow morning before I head off into town!

Thanks for the comments so far, and I look forward to any further comments!

Switch R Type vertically and you have Nanostray - one of the most addictive and graphically impressive games on the console.

Unfortunately, I can't get off the first level :(

Is Castlevania a RPG though? Not like the brilliant SNES version?

Its more like metroid - gain new powers and open up new areas kind of thing. I deliberately took it slowly when I played it because I didn't want it to end.

there's plenty of other top games for the DS. Advance Wars, Mr Driller (love this one), Phoenix Wright, Tony Hawks, Tetris DS.

A lot of these you can pick up pretty cheap now though. Do a search in the bargain forums before you make your mind up, no point in swapping star wars for something you can pick up for a tenner on t'internet.

NSMB but be warned, if you're good at it, it is a bit short. Res Evil is just a remake of the first PS one isn't it?

Castlevania is superb. Mario is short if, like me, you are pretty good at it.

I never understood what was so good about Castlevania. I tried to play the GBA version and I thought it was totally carp.

It felt like a platformer from the 80s....oh wait a min.

I didn't like the GBA one, yet gave the DS one a try and loved it.

Don't ask why.... i really don't know.
