During my Dead Rising addiction I've noticed that my controller is being a bit odd.
The character seems to decide to suddenly walk instead of run, then run, the walk (With the left analogue stick pushed fully up) and dive around randomly.
I have a second pad and it seems fine. Could this be a battery problem (The wonky one is using the plug and play charger) or is the controller dead? If so will M$ :dork: replace it or should I go back to gamestation. (I have the receipt but no packaging for the extra controller).
If he's actually moving (ie walking when he should be running) then it's not the battery, sounds more like the sensor that determines how far the analogue stick is being pushed. Usually it's the other way round, it'll pull one way when it's supposedly stationary.
Either phone MS and they'll seen you a new one or take it back to Gamestation - they should replace it, whichever is easiest.

Mine's done that a couple of times in Dead Rising. I just assumed it was the game. Seems OK if I center the stick then push forward again.

I'll give MS a call. Thanks. How long have you had the controller? When I used to play a lot more than I do today, my expereince the controllers never lasted more than a year. You sure it's not wear and tear?
I've found the 360 Wireless controllers aren't as robust as the third party ones I used for the XBox. I've had to return two to the shop because the plastic housing holding the batteries has just come apart in my hands. There doesn't seem to be anything but friction holding them together.

About four months. It's had a fair amount of use, but my Playstation 2 pads have been used to death and are tip top.

My friends had his PS2 for years and still has the same wired controller that came with it and it works fine. I had to buy a new wired controller for my XBox just over a year after I bought it. The wireless ones lasted much longer.
