Hi! Have owned a Dansai 852S for a week now and I am really pleased with it (my first DVD-player).

Although I have some questions I hope someone could help me with:

1. Does Dansai 852 have Dual Lasers? If not, should I worry? play both DVD and audio-CD's, MP3's....

2. Is there a way to play audio-CD's track at random? Can't find any button for this....

3. Any tips for functions that don't are mentioned in the manual?

THANX!

Hi SWEBRAVE,

Welcome to the forums.

1) The player will play anything you can put in it by way of DVD, CD and MP£s or VCDs. Others have reported it playes MP3 compilations on CD-Rs and CD-R/Ws fine, so you should be covered for all options.

2) I don't think there is a random option for CD track playback. I've not found one yet, other than getting one of the kids to press a button at random ;-)

3) I'm assuming you have used the "hack" to access the factory menu to make your player multi-region and disable Macrovision so you can record to a VCR OK? If not search on the DVDReviewer site under their region free hack pages. It's easy to apply and works a treat.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes

You simply connect the DVD player to your VCR with the scart cable.Set your VCR to the channel AV and press record ;)

Macrovision is a copy protection used on DVDs and videos though - not CDRs .

I got this player for Crimble.. seems a wonderful little beast. Only incey things to bother me are it feels so light and the drawbridge does not always go up when the disc draw goes in.

It seems to play all you can chuck at it no worries. I fiddled about making my first VCD last night on a CDRW and no problems at all.

Excellent!
