Omniremote

This forum seems to be the place to find information so can anyone tell me where I can get an omniremote attachment for my Handspring Visor? I can't find a company in the UK who sells them.

Unless you are looking at getting the hardware addon as well don't bother with it. I have a Visor Deluxe and the Omni software. The built in infrared port would work at about 50cm distance. To be honest the screen on the Visor is too small to be usable, even if the IR was powerful enough.

Thanks for the reply. It was the hardware add on I was thinking of getting and I have found a US company who will ship one to me. I still haven't decided for sure to get one and from your comments about screen size it sounds like it might not be worth it.

I think the best bet would be to install the software and have a play - let me know if you want me to send it to you. Then if you think you will use it you can go ahead with the purchase.

Just out of interest, what would the overall outlay be for the hardware in the US and import duty etc?

It costs around $60 so that would be just over £40. As for customs duties etc., at first I thought I would only have to pay vat but having checked a government web site yesterday I think there may be other charges as well. To tell the truth I am not as keen now as I was especially as I am thinking of buying an av amp (at the moment I only have pro logic through my sony tv). So I dont think I can afford any other toys for now. :mad:
