Bit of a twisty plot - nothing to really write home about. A one watcher job in my view - each to their own though.

I really enjoyed. I've seen it a couple of times now, VHS rental ages ago and when it was on TV a couple of months back - so I can't comment on the extras.
How much was it in the sale?? If it's cheap, i'd give it a ride...
IMHO, the film's worth a punt at anything under a tenner. It's not a bad film and there are plenty of extras on the DVD (3 commentaries, documentary, and some other stuff).
It's an enjoyable watch, but hardly high art.
Still much better than the three Cronenberg high-concept literary adaptations that came after Dead Ringers. He's definitely on a downward career curve - Existenz is his Casino, playing safe whilst worrying if he's still got it. And I dont think he'd have headed back upwards with the cancelled Basic Instinct II either.
The disc is non-anamorphic on R2, no extras on R1, but comes with bells on in Canada! Still, for £10 maybe worth a whirl.

I must agree with the other posters that for a tenner, it is a good buy (picked up a copy in MVC's sale). It isn't worth 20 quid, though. I found it quite an entertaining film, if not one to watch when tired (lots of twists in the plot).
I thoroughly enjoyed it although some fans of Cronenberg's previous work found it rather tame... still I felt it had great performances from the two leads and an intelligent plot - although some themes are similar to the Matrix I felt it was miles better than it anyday (but then again I really didn't like the Matrix ;) )
Worth picking up methinks esp. around the £10 price...

i thought it was a bit poo really.
and a terrible, terrible ending.
thought it was a very lazy entry into the virtual reality field, this was the same director as crash and videodrome?? a tenner is a lot more than the price of rental which is all this film merits.

This film is brilliant!! I know there's no accounting for taste but I can't believe I'm the only one here who thinks this film is great. It is easily the best virtual reality film out there with the possible exception of Videodrome. I can't wait to see what he does next (but thankfully it's not going to be Basic Instinct II).
whatever the film the main premise will involve the insertion of a foreign object into a body cavity.
