View Full Version : Help with Purple Fringing and CA!
I went down the woods today to take some pics. My Tamron 17-50mm is suppose to be pretty good with purple fringing and CA, but there is still some on leaf edges etc.
I've used both Photoshops RAW converter feature and PT lens, but they only marginally help. What is the best method to remove purple fringing and other CA's.

AFAIK you can't really remove purple fringing, CA is a blue / red shift and most RAW converters handle that well. Purple fringing is caused by a lens / sensor interaction (blooming) generally - a partial fix apparently is to remove the magenta colour cast, but for some reason RAW converters never seen to be able to get rid of blooming.
If you are seeing your leaves with red and blue fringes - offset slightly - you have CA, if its a magenta purple then you can't remove it in RAW - unless anyone know different?
Does it show on print? It might be one of those things that looks worse at 100% viewing than it does on paper.
